Suburban Ink is a custom tattoo studio specialising in bespoke tattoo design.

Suburban Ink was set up in February 2008 by Stockport tattoo artist Mark St Clair. Mark travelled extensively in America during the 1990's and brought back with him a love of the U.S. traditional tattooing scene.

Since opening Suburban Ink Mark has begun garnering regional acclaim for his fantastic line work, subtle black and grey shading and beautiful full colour tattooing. His impressive portfolio continues to grow in quality as he takes his 6 years of tattooing experience out to a wider audience.

Dave Stokes joined Mark at Suburban Ink in the spring of 2008. Having conceived and created Mad, Quaker and Black Tattoo Studio in the High peak Dave had already begun developing a loyal customer base and strong visual style over the previous 3 years. Dave's strengths continue to be his diverse approach and willingness to take on big projects with relish. He loves melding traditional Japanese techniques and styles with more contemporary imagery as well as delving more recently into a more photo realistic approach to tattooing.
Together Mark and Dave have forged a strong partnership that combines a welcoming and friendly approach with solid no nonsense advice, tattoo design and execution.

Now they're both at it!
Dave and Mark are now both working alongside Louis Molloy (Of London ink Fame) up at the Middleton Tattoo Studio. Dave's  continuing to work there all day Mondays and mark is now there on Thursdays.
We're really excited about working alongside one of the worlds best Tattoo Artists and hope that some of Louis influence will show through in the work we produce here in Marple.
